PAVAC
PERFORMING AND VISUAL ARTS CENTER

The Performing and Visual Arts Center, commonly known as "PAVAC," has been housed at Miami Northwestern since the 1974-1975 school year. It was initially opened to secondary level students from all Dade County Public Schools. It is the oldest performing and visual arts program in Miami-Dade County Public Schools. The curriculum includes art, dance, drama, and music. These performing arts students provides a cultural, lyceum type features for the Northwestern community, as well as for numerous community-based organizations throughout the county and state. PAVAC auditions are typically held in late January throughout early February each school year.
